Three projects during the Covid 19 Lockdown
There was a nationwide movement of artists offering free portraits for NHS workers during the lockdown. I made two woodcut portraits. This one features Kerry, a trainee pharmacist (and Joy Division fan).
While the art school was closed and all teaching and assessment was conducted online, I made and distributed a little 'Keep Going' woodcut print for my students. I put the remainder on sale with all proceeds going to local charities. This raised £480 each for Reading Refugee Support Group and Sue Ryder's Duchess of Kent Hospice.
I participated in the ArtAgainstCovid online art auction. One woodcut from the A Walk For Stanley series was purchased by a collector in New York, raising funds for grassroots charities in the North West.
Open Studios 2020
I had planned to hold open studio (at OpenHand OpenSpace, Reading) during May 2020. Unfortunately this had to be postponed due to the coronavirus lockdown. I will rearrange my open studio when conditions allow. It will be good to welcome visitors to my studio again.
c/o OpenHand OpenSpace,
571 Oxford Road
I am in the studio three days each week (normally Monday-Wednesday). Studio visits are welcome, by appointment. Please email to arrange.
